- What does a Las Vegas hotel stay really cost?
- Your room rate is only part of it. Most Las Vegas hotels also charge a mandatory nightly resort or amenities fee, and many charge for self-parking or valet. On top of that, hotels place a temporary security deposit hold on your card at check-in, which is not a charge but does reduce the credit or funds you have available.
- Is the check-in hold part of my hotel bill?
- No. A check-in hold is a temporary authorization for incidentals and damages. It is normally released after checkout, though it can take several days to clear, especially on a debit card. VegasCost keeps it separate from your estimated stay cost for that reason.
- Does the resort fee come out of my booking price?
- It depends on where you booked. Some prepaid bookings include the mandatory nightly fee, and some collect it at the hotel. If you are not sure, this calculator shows both scenarios so you can plan for the higher one.
- Are taxes included in these amounts?
- No. VegasCost shows the amounts hotels publish, most of which are quoted before Nevada lodging and sales taxes. Taxes and any personal spending are additional.
